This introduction to our church family is where most people have their first chance to learn about Destiny Church and what it means to become part of the family. The teacher(s) presents the Gospel clearly and invites believers to join in a covenant with our church.

We ask believers to commit to membership for four reasons:

• A Biblical Reason — Christ committed to the Church (Eph. 5:25) and Christ-followers should also be committed to a local body of the Church.
  
  
• A Cultural Reason — In our culture, commitment has been replaced with consumerism. Consumerism asks, "what’s in it for me?" Membership asks, "what can I do to help?" The Church is the antidote to our society. Commitment to the Church through membership builds character and thus strengthens society.
  
  
• A Practical Reason — Committing to membership helps us know who can be counted on. Membership identifies our family.
  
  
• A Personal Reason — Membership helps produce spiritual growth. When you commit to membership, you are placing yourself under the leadership of a local church and will in turn experience what the New Testament calls accountability.
